I love movies, and some of the lines from them have stuck with me for decades. Here are a few of my favorite movie lines (in no particular order). See if you can guess which movies they come from:
1. All right, everyone out of the room! Not you, Scott. Not you, Number Two. Not you, Random Henchman with a wrench…
2. Can we have your liver, then?
3. She’s a drag, a well-known drag. We turn the sound down on her and say rude things.
4. Look in the mirror—see what a bad girl looks like?
5. Laz im geyn!
6. Margaret Thatcher naked on a cold day! Margaret Thatcher naked on a cold day!
7. I’ll have what she’s having.
8. I know everyone on island is complete and total crazy. But you Whitaker Walt—you are crazy too?
9. On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot. ’Tis a silly place.
10. Excuse me, stewardess. I speak jive.
11. Don’t tell me about the English! Because while the Greeks were building roads and cities and temples, what were the English doing? I’ll tell you what the English were doing: they were running about in loincloths plowing up the earth with the assbone of a giraffe!
12. We thought you was a toad.
13. I never had it off with no Black man, dawling…
14. No capes!
15. What’s taters, Precious?
What are the lines that stick in your head long after you’ve seen the movie?
I only know:
#7- When Harry Met Sally
#10-Airplane!
My two favorites:
“Nobody puts Baby in a corner” from Dirty Dancing
“Tzeitel- don’t forget the baby!” from Fiddler on the Roof
Raizy: Thanks for playing. Someone should put together the top 10 movie lines that include the word “baby.” I’d add, “‘Baby-fishmouth’ is sweeping the nation!” (Another When Harry Met Sally line. Such a classic, that movie.)
#1 must be an Austin Powers movie.
I don’t know #6, but it might be a scene with some man trying to reduce any thought of arousal.
#7 is When Harry Met Sally, #9 is Monty Python and the Holy Grail, #10 is Airplane, #14 is The Incredibles.
Michael: Well done. The movies are all over the place; I’ll be amazed if anyone can get #3. I thought you might know #15 too, since the reason we saw that movie was originally because of a recommendation from you…
Well, #15 is probably one of the Lord of the Rings films, but if I’m right I’m still not sure I can narrow it down any further. (The second one?)
As for #3, it has a 1960s feel to it. Want to provide a hint?
Michael: The Cap’n Googled #3 and got it. And you’re right about #15 being a LOTR movie; it’s the third, when they’re trekking through Ithilien and Gollum’s brought back “a brace of coneys” that Sam is stewing. (The book chapter, I remember, is “Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit.”)

Heather: That link is completely mental. Thanks for sharing. (How on earth did you find such a thing?)
I don’t remember. I’ve known about it for a while, and meant to send it to you, knowing that you’d appreciate it. Glad you reminded me!
